New Milton RFC
Christchurch RFC

This week saw Christchurch take the short journey to our neighbours taking on New Milton 2s at New Milton.

A couple of injuries, ilnesses and unavailability reduced Christchurch to 15 players but it was Christchurch that started quickly and surprised the visitors with the first try of the game in the opening 5 minutes, the conversion from out wide narrowly slipped the wrong side of the posts.  In what was a competitive first half it saw New Milton fight back with 3 tries of their own, the 3rd with almost the last play of the half which took them in at the break 19 - 5 ahead.

Another couple of unfortunate injuries to Christchurch players, hopefully not serious enough to keep the lads out of next weeks game, didn't help.  New Milton had the benefit of a large squad for this game and kindly supplemented those Christchurch injuries to keep it  15 v 15 which gave as many lads some game time as possible, however with the younger fresher legs New Milton were able to deploy in the second half they pulled away scoring another 7 tries to end the day the winners 60 - 5.

It was a tough day at the office for Christchurch, but no one gave up, heads didn't drop, we go again next week.

Christchurch scorers on the day were:

  • Kristan Woodland-Emery - 1 try

Player of the Match:

Noah – For stepping into the 10 shirt when our starting 10 got injured.

D*** of the Day:

Troy – He loves to be early, but 4 hours!!!

We are back in training Tuesday & Thursday evening preparing for our home fixture against Southampton 2s on the 18th October 2025 for Round 3 of the league season.
