Ventnor RFC
Christchurch RFC

After a 3 week break, unfortunately Southampton 2s were unable to raise a side for the Round 3 fixture, Christchurch ventured across the solent to the Isle of Wight to take on Ventnor 2s.

Ventnor started well with big dominent carries and quickly took the lead but as the first half progressed never took complete control and a fine move from Christchurch almost on the stroke of half time saw them pull the score back to 12 - 7 at the interval to the hosts.

As the second half wore on then a couple of injuries and tiredness crept into the game for Christchurch, and with larger numbers Ventnor took advantage of their fresh legs and ran in a number of tries to complete a 40 - 7 victory keeping them at the top of the table alongside New Milton 2s.

It was another tough day at the office for Christchurch, but again no one gave up, heads didn't drop, we have a week off before welcoming Ellingham & Ringwood 3rds to Grange Road on the 22nd November 2025.

Christchurch scorers on the day were:

  • Matty Mycroft - 1 try and 1 conversion

Player of the Match:

Chris Freeman – For being everywhere on his debut for the club.

D*** of the Day:

Kristan Woodland-Emery – He wanted Sally back at a guess!!!

A special mention has to goto Marc Harburn, who couldn't play due to work commitments, but when he finished work he made his way to Lymington, caught the ferry across to Yarmouth then made his way to the ferry terminal at Fishbourne to catch up with the coach to then come back on another ferry with the lads, commitment or what.
