On a warm and sunny afternoon Christchurch played hosts to Ventnor 2s for the final game of the season in round 7 of the Hampshire Counties 6 (South) league.
Before we get to the match we'd like to say a huge thank you to Ventnor 2s for making the trip across the Solent for this game. They had a very special day planned for Sunday 19th April 2026 seeing a Ventnor RFC XV taking to the pitch to honour one of their own, Tristan “Beast” Price, in a game that means more than just the result.
Christchurch got off to the perfect start with three tries, two from Kristan Woodland-Emery and one from Sam Farnden, all three converted by Noah Legg to jump into a 21 - 0 lead. Ventnor 2s hit back with a try of their own before a Christchurch try from Troy Hickling in the corner took the lead to 26 - 5. Ventnor 2s came back strongly with two tries, one converted, to bring the score to 26 - 17 at the interval to the hosts.
Christchurch were first to cross the white line in the second half with Charlie Hatchard scoring, 31 - 17. Ventnor 2s again fought back with another try, 31 - 22. The final scoring came the way of a try from Sam Farnden, converted by Noah Legg which saw Christchurch take the points with a 38 - 22 win.
As usual a huge thank you goes out to all those who came along to support the lads - it is truely appreciated.
Christchurch scorers on the day were:
- Kristan Woodland-Emery - 2 tries
- Sam Farnden - 2 tries
- Troy Hickling - 1 try

Player of the Match:

D*** of the Day:

The table can be found here, you will see two leagues due to the change in structure after christmas, the one to focus on is titled "Counties 6 South of Hampshire Merit Tables": Christchurch RFC - Christchurch
We had a simple aim this season and that was to play every league game, and we did. From where we were at the end of the 2024/25 season to where we are now is a testament to the lads that believed in Christchurch and to all the new faces that have joined us and slotted straight in as if they've been with us for years, thank you to you all.
Finally to all the volunteers that give up their valuable time each week, not just on match days, to make sure the lads to step onto the pitch, we thank you too.
