As Troy Bolton once sang "it's the start of something new" and what better way to start a new season then a message from our New Club Captain Rob.
"As we begin the 2025/2026 season at Christchurch Rugby Club, I’m proud and
honoured to be selected to lead a team built not just on skill, but on something far
more important: friendship, Respect, and shared values. Rugby is more than a
sport—it’s a community, and here at Christchurch, we make sure every player feels
like they belong from the very first session.
I joined the club just one year ago, and from my first training session and game, I felt
a genuine sense of welcome and belonging. That inclusive spirit is something I want
every new player to experience this season, whether you’re a seasoned player or
completely new to the game.
This year, we’re focusing on growth—bringing more players into the sport and
building the club together, one session and one game at a time. Our aim on the field
is clear: we’re striving for a top 4 finish in the Hampshire Premiership. But just as
important as where we place is how we play—upholding the core RFU TREADS
values:
🔵Teamwork in everything we do,
🔵Respect for our teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials,
🔵Enjoyment of every moment together,
🔵Discipline to grow as players and people,
🔵Sportsmanship that defines how we win—and lose—with pride.
Rugby has many traditions, but at Christchurch, friendship and sportsmanship stand
at the forefront of ours. This club means a lot to me because of the way it brings
people together—no matter your background, age (17+), or ability. Everyone has a
place here.
As
To anyone thinking about getting involved this season: come and try Christchurch. I
assure you, you won’t be disappointed. Everyone is welcome all we ask in return is
that you uphold our values and love our club like we do!"
Here’s to a great season ahead.
